Asterix and Obelix

Asterix the Gaul (on French Asterix the Le Galois) It is a succession comic made by Rene René Goscinny  (script) and Albert Urdezo (design) made since October 29th 1959 on the Pilote Magazine.
It has been translated to many languages (include Latin and old Greek) and the magazines are available in many countries around the world and this comic is the most famous on the French literature.
Since the first issue, the story that developed the little Gaul adventure had a lot of humor and fantasy in each of its pages. The adventure was called “Asterix Legionary”, the first publication was first printed on the Pilote Magazine at the end of the 60’s, and it was a big success to the French comic.
The history is developed near the year 50 B.C on the fictional village on northwest of Galia, the unique part that hadn´t been discovered by Julio Cesar. The village is surrounded by four Roman camps: Babaórum, Acuárium, Láudanum and Petibónum.
The History begins with the following qoute:
“We are on the 50´s B.C. , all around the Galia Village is colonized by Romans, all around? No! One small village of indomitable Gauls still holds out against the invaders.”
The resistance of these villagers is due to the superhuman strength gained after drinking a magic potion prepared by the druid Panoramix.
Most of the Asterix books have the backbone of the Roman army's attempt to occupy the village and prevent the druid to prepares the potion.   These attempts are always thwarted by Asterix and Obelix.
