Toei has developed seventeen animated feature films inspired by Manga and three television specials and alternative anime titled Dragon Ball GT. From 2009 to 2011, Toei broadcast a remastered version of Dragon Ball Z under the name of Dragon Ball Kai, in which most of the original material not found in the Manga was removed.
