WATCHMEN: THE GRAPHIC NOVEL BEYOND THAT IS BEING SUPERHERO

First, we need to understand what the difference between comics magazines or comics books and the graphic novels. This difference focuses on that the comics are short stories published in thin magazines that begins or concludes a story that has been addressed in other comic books, being directed to a younger public. The graphic novels tend to cover one long story only in his entirety (though there may be sequels) with the basic novel components of beginning, middle and end, being directed for a mature audience with serious literary themes and sophisticated artwork.
“Watchmen” is a novel created by Alan Moore, the of V for Vendetta and The Killing Joke. There are three different stories being told in the novel. The central argument and the first and principal story is comprised by 12 issues. It was published  in 1986 by DC Comics and tells the story of the United States in the 80’s, on the brink of a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. After many years of service to the government, the old superheroes are retired or working for the government and the activity of the new superheroes had been suspended by the “Keene Act”, a law that prohibits the public appearance to all type of superheroes included freelance watchmen costumed.
The story begins with the murder of Edward Blake, aka "The Comedian", one of the few superheroes who remained active after the “Keene Act”, working undercover for the U.S. government. The police attempts to solve the case were useless, which brings Rorschach to the crime scene, who believes it is a “masked murderer” and decides to alert his retired teammates (the principal characters and superheroes in this story), Dan Dreiberg (Nite Owl ), Adrian Veidt (Ozymandias) and the couple Jon Osterman (Dr. Manhattan) the unique superhero with real powers, and Juspeczyk Laurie (Silk Spectre). Rorschach tries to solve the mysterious circumstances of his death, and also attempts to uncover the possible conspiracy of killing or exiling the superheroes and eventually leads them to confront a complot that would stave off a nuclear war and avoid the killing millions of people.

The Watchmen is more than a graphic novel that tells the story of superheroes, it is a graphic novel about superheroes. This novel explores the essence of being a superhero, exploring many aspects beyond the fiction. The Watchmen explores the life of a Superhero with his classics adventures and fights against the evil but at the same time exploring his motivations to become one valiant vigilante to get of rid the world of evil and criminals, including the aftermath of that hero’s actions and the way that those actions affected not only their own life, but the lives of those around them.
Watchmen would arrive to the big screen in 2009, led by the director Zack Snyder and a cast of actors who embodied their characters very well. The adaptation was really good. With a duration of 162 minutes in which all the important aspects of the story were included, which is very difficult in an adaptation, with several changes to the script. Although the story has a very crude language for a film, the film was a success.
The company DC comics has announced in the news the first of February of this year, after a rumor of almost two years, they are giving us "Before Watchmen", Seven numbers will tell the lives of all the protagonists of the saga before Watchmen, in a mini-series format. Finally this is a shocking story that shows us the harsh reality of the world and the people’s true face. It features deep characters to identify, share ideas and thoughts that seem to inhabit only inside the head of each one of them. A comic to read carefully and patiently and more than once surely. If you liked the movie and do not know the story, you will love this classic comics.
